Composition : I like the composition quite a bit. The berries on the table looks quite natural.
Exposure/Lighting : I notice you shot F3.5 at 1/2 second which implies to me that you didn't have much light here. You may want to get hold of a portable light source and experiment with it a bit.
Focus : Your choice of a shallow Depth of Field didn't work for me. It looks focused more on the back of the container then on any berries.
Post Processing : I'm certain that you had your reasons for going Black&White on a challenge for Blue, but I'm not certain it worked to your benefit. It was risky and I have to applaud your courage, but I think the score here would have been MUCH higher for "Blue" blue berries.
Emotion/Challenge : I struggled with whether this shot met the challenge for sometime when I was voting. I finally decided to give it to you since I believe you wanted folks to think blue instead of merely see blue.... This kind of thinking can be the sign of a true artist. But you'll need to get your technique down better for folks to see what you are saying without being distracted by how you say it.
Opinion : While I'm not a big fan of this shot, I do applaud your vision and think that once you get over a few technical issues, you'll be doing some exciting things :) |

I liek the fact that you went "colorless" in this. they are definately blue berries, and this does convey the IDEA blue. angle and framig/cropping are good. I only wish for better focus. Great shot. Good luck in the challenge. |

Definately evocative of the colour blue. |

Sorry, but a color shot would have scored much better, IMO. Try a flatter focal plain with macro shots, or less subjects. 5 Swash |

A blue tint to this picture would have really made it. Nice Shot though 4 |

The lighting needs to be improved greatly. |

with the coloring of this photo, the blueberries look more like tiny chestnuts. i love black and white, but this photo would have been better in color. |

In this case, I'd prefer to see the blue of the berries. |

This is a nice shot - I wish the color would have been kept so that you could actually see the blue. |

I don't think this is a very effective picture in black and white. Especially since you are supposed to be evoking the color... and besides them being blueberries... I don't really think blue. When I first saw this picture without the title I almost thought olives. |

The color is a little too subdued. I do like the content of this photo a lot. |

I think you should have tried to focus on the front edge of the bowl because it sticks out more, plus I'd rather see this in color. |

Good idea but bowl is blurry and I miss the color. No tricks, jsut natural. |
