I saw part of the Rio Grande river canyon near Taos NM. What impressed me about it most was that the world was flat for miles, then suddenly there was this huge gash in the ground.
This angle does good in showing the receding layers and depths into the distance toward the bottom of the canyon. Not only did the explorers have to deal with the vertical aspect of it, there is a roaring river at the bottom to cross as well. |

Having never been to the Grand Canon or a dessert for that much, I am always pleasantly surprised to see such vibrant colors. |
