| Hmmm... intriguing. These ice photos are weird to me, because I've only been in snow twice in my life. This one is particularly nice. Simple, strong composition. Good work. |

| Well, since I'm not so sure that that pure white background occured naturally, without any human intervention, I'm going to take a point off. Feel free to let me know if I'm wrong, and I'll fix it. Otherwise, the photo is excelent. The angle and framing/cropping are great. I LOVE the focus and clarity on the ice. The way we can see the stick through the ice is very nice as well. Lighting is perfect. Great job! Good luck in the challenge. |

| I'll be curious to hear how you pulled this one off... I'm guessing you may have taken some white poster board outside to use as a backdrop? If you had taken the branch inside, it would have melted pretty quickly. Or maybe you live in an igloo. Whatever the case, I guess I'm trying to say, "Nice shot!" |

| Cool shot, did you take the branch inside? While I like the absense of background, I think I would have liked seeing the branch in it's environment. It's a great shot anyway. 8 Swash |

| challenge met. oh, man, i'm torn on this one. i LOVE plain white backgrounds, and it works well, here, accentuating the branch and how it is completely covered in ice ... but the background looks unnatural. i'm not suggesting you cheated, i know that you just have to find the right angle to take the photo ... but it looks less natural (my interpretation of the challenge) than it would with more plants in the background. the clarity and focus and composition are all great. |

| The white background feels really unnatural in this shot. I think a more natural background would be more appealing. |
