Wow! I thought this might do pretty well but an 8!!! I can hardly believe it has held up this long. I kept waiting for it to drop and it never did. I am guessing the high score is partly due to the low number of entries but I will take it! Currently I am at 8.110 just a couple hours before roll over hopefully the vote scrubber won't get to it and I will keep it.

This one was a fun one for me. My kids and I really like Tim Burtons version of Alice in Wonderland, in fact two of my kids wanted to dress up as characters from that movie for Halloween this year. This isn't my Halloween costume I made it specifically for this challenge. The wig was a left over Halloween devil wig I taped it to my hat to make it stand up, I also cut bits off of it to make the eyebrows. The coat and teacup were thrift store finds. I actually painted the scarf it was white with colored dots and I painted the black on. The hat was made from poster board covered in scraps of fabric and lace. I made the pins from clay painted gold. And my make-up I had to make myself as well since Halloween is over it's hard to find face paint (I tried) So if you ever need to make your own white face paint in a pinch, mix shortening, flour and a bit of white acrylic paint, and ta dah! you have face paint. The background was just a plain piece of green fabric but it was wrinkled a bit and made a cool effect when I photographed it. So I guess wrinkles in backdrops are not always bad.

Thanks for all the great comments, and if you haven't already guessed this is me. Kind of freaky, but my kids thought it was great, even my 4 year old. They must be used to me dressing up in weird outfits for challenges by now.

I gave this a 10 and it's worth every bit of it - I'm in awe of the craftsmanship and creative expression in this amazing image. This is a wonderful depiction, it's definitely a fav of mine as is Tim Burton's wonderful movie.

Yes, it's true the image quality isn't what it should be for an 8+ score. I thought the same thing myself. I am truly surprised by the score. Just goes to show you just never know what the voters are going to think and what they will overlook when the subject is right. Anyway serves me right, now I get to look at this photo of myself every time I go to my profile page ;)

The amount of detail in this to go and exactly match the poster is incredible. The image quality is not where I would like to see it especially for an 8+ score, but your hard work and your facial expression are what won the crowd over. Big congratulations, DPC wife, I mean Jenn ;)

I'm surprised by your score given the flaws in the image. That said, the wardrobe and makeup are great. Your work in those areas and your unambiguous approach to the challenge theme clearly fueled your success. Congrats.

9 from me and this image captivates the viewer and I just cant stop staring. Its like Im looking at the inside of a very cluttered room... through those eyes. Well done and you certainly deserved the Blue here as well as 8+!!!
