Stunning photo! Great control of detail in foreground while zooming in on the Rock in the background, while offering us the wonders of multi-colored ridges in the far background. Some of the finest DOF work in this challenge! Delighted you placed in the top 10. In my mind, this photo should have been a ribbon winner. True Strength

While I agree with the photographer in the perspective that faith in God and the cross of Christ is our true strength, the photo needs some strengthening: compose the limbs to point to our embrace the cross; the cross seems a bit wimpy to exemplify true strength; remove the unsightly composition tiles on the church roof, clouds with sunlight breaking through to highlight the cross would have been more moving a choice of background.

Delicacy of this flower among the stones is an excellent choice of strength, though the background loses interest due to the out of focus excess and the darkness. The flower leaves also need greater focus. Otherwise, a higher vote.

York's City Walls

Lovely floral photo with juxtaposition of stone walls in background. The white sky makes this photo look like a studio portrait rather than a real world photo. Also, the true strength of York is not in her walls but in her great cathedral faith as witnessed by the York Minster. The Minster at night would have been a finer subject for this challenge.
