This picture is almost more interesting for the way the light shines through the leaves than the building itself. The framing is nice and catching the sun in front of you is always tricky to get right. You do manage to capture a lot of the building detail but it doesnt stand out as the subject strongly enough for me.

It's an excellent subject for the photo and I like how you attempt to frame it within the trees. Just a couple of nit picks - there's a little glare at the very top edge of the picture and there's a black 'well' in the middle of the picture where there's no detail. Definitely captures the feeling of oldness though. Well done.

Wattle and Daub.

Is that really wattle and daub? Regardless - it's a lovely old building and the strong contrast B&W makes it look like an old photo. Good effort at meeting the challenge. My only criticism is that it's not an especially interesting picture. Perhaps it's the angle that's very conventional. But that, again, adds to the old picture feel.

Excellent DoF. Overall the picture seems a tiny bit dark. Not clear to me how the shoe relates to the document. This is perhaps something a brit like me wouldn't recognise.

Abandoned Stairwell?

Interesting viewing angle - really draws the eye down to the bottom of the stairwell and holds it there. It's a little gloomy but that's obviously down to the location - not much you could do with that. Some strange blockyness on the red rail in the top right corner. Seems to be because it's against the gridwork metal floor. Nothing to do with your camera or processing - just an odd optical effect I think.

Woooo - spooky, sneaky and scarily good. The perfect subject and an almost off-hand use of a clever effect. Im wondering if this might even be one of the rare photographs that would have benefited from sepia tone. Regardless - excellent concept, execution and technicals. No faults at all. Well done!

Good subject and background. Not sure about the *strong* shadows, though. They become more of a focus of attention than the mortar and pestle. Nicely captures the grain of the stone.

The old ladies home

Good choice of subjects but I think we needed to see either more or less of the building they're on. As it is we can see this is a doorway but we know nothing about what the building is. A closer zoom could have showed us more detail on the ladies themselves.
