My Exotic Petby CreativeFlyPhotoComment: Excellent detail! Lighting is perfect. I would have liked more depth of field, but I've shot images similar to this and it's so hard to get the DOF and have a reasonable shutter speed, especially with an uncooperative, moving subject! I like the hint of green in the background. Very nice, I give it an 8 |

Growing Up by jenaromComment: I had thought of doing something similar to this but I didn't. I'm glad, because your shot is excellent and I wouldn't want to be the worse of the two! Your lighting, focus, DOF, etc is perfect. I am impressed that you have no wrinkles in your background cloth!! That drives me nuts on this site! The only thing I would have done differently would be to crop farther away from the child's toes. A little white space in front of the toes would help with image balance IMO. Overall, nicely done and I give it a 9. JD Anderson |

The Window of Truthby MiekaComment: This is one of my favorites this week. I'm glad to see you took advantage of the relaxed editing rules this week. Your manipulation is obvious, but it is not 'cheesy' and it works very well. I like the strong diagonals in the frame and the columns at the lower right are great. Is this in DC? As long as you were 'Photoshopping' I would have cloned out the dark gray shadow at the top center of the frame. I like this a lot and give it a 10!

Door In The Floorby magnetic9999Comment: I had some great ideas for this challenge using Photoshop, but didn't have time to work on them. I'm happy to see someone took the relaxed rules to the limit! This image is a lot of fun. The image on the floor has lots of appeal... the guy's posture and look on his face work well. The 'surprise' on the main image is good. I feel the area in the background of the main image is a little cluttered. Overall, lots of fun, thanks for using your creativity and giving us something unusual to look at this week! 9

Window to the Soulby SharQComment: I knew there would be an eye shot as a window to the soul this week. I didn't know, however, it would be this good of an eyeshot! I like that you chose black and white. The detail and clarity is amazing to me. I'd be interested in what equipment you used, lighting, etc. Great job! 9 |

Backhand Driveby ndsComment: What a great shot. On my first run though voting I gave it a 7. On a more detailed review, I like it even more. This looks like a difficult shot to capture, and you did so very well. You meet the theme very well with the racquest strings. I love how the raquest is sharp, but you've got the blurred motion of the birdie. The neon yellow really grabs attention, too. I like the fact that your background has some blue in it instead of an all black background. The only thing I can comment on to improve is your background. I find the wrinkles in the fabric to be alittle distracting, but it's a minor detail. Good job and good luck in the challenge. |

My preciousssby RefractedComment: I like this shot. It has a very human feel to it, which I like more than anything. I don't know what your exposure data is, but I think a little more DOF would have helped. I see the hands and the cube as your focus point, but the right arm is a very strong (if not the strongest) element in the photo, and it's a little soft. I love the way the right arm brings your eye to the hands and the cube. Title is also great. With better DOF I'd give it a 9 or 10, as is I give it an 8. Good luck with the challenge! |
