what a cool capture, must have been hard to keep the cat in the frame let alone anything else. maybe a faster shutter speed, more light and a deeper dof could help you get a sharper focus. I like the composition and your colors

nice take on the original, it must have been hard to get enough lighting on the board without blowing out the pieces, I'm wondering if you could've tried lighting from below the board with a little bit of light from above. the only other nitpicky thing would be that the glass is dusty. I tried messing around with this in photoshop and it has real potential - I would try converting to b&w and using dodge/burn to even out the lighting, and selective highlighting on the squares to get rid of dust, darken black squares and lighten white squares. this is a very good start, good luck in the challenge

nice remake, I like the b&w and good sharpness on the apple. I'm wondering if a slightly deeper dof could have gotten your kitty's nose a little more in focus. also, for the dpc crowd, maybe cropping way in so that you have a square with just the kitty's face and partial neck and half the top of the apple might have done better. great capture though, I love the look in those eyes

good remake of the original, looks like focus is good and the chess set is beautiful, the only thing is I'm wondering if maybe you took this from more of a ground level with the pieces, the board wouldn't be so confusing with the pieces - in this challenge, we didn't have to follow the rules of the original challenge

hmm.. interesting take on the original. I think that considering your subject, the faded-out editing was a good choice. composition is good, maybe a little more space below the wing would help a little. I'm guessing though, that this isn't doing so well with the dpc crowd - I'm wondering if maybe you couldn't have tried other angles like from the ground view, or upclose maybe on the wing or with feathers blowing in the wind, but obviously lifeless on the ground... not sure, just some thoughts

technically a very nice photo, nice remake of the original, focus and composition are both great, the only thing is it needs a little something extra - maybe more color or something, I'm not sure, overall very well done

yikes, there are a lot of pictures with this title - I found it though. I like that you managed to still use greens and blues like in the original, but make it look good. composition is great, I like that you got good sharpness on the drop and softness on the rest. the only nitpick is that I'm not so fond of the rusty brown color... everything is is perfect
