Accommodation Guideby AndymationComment: I"m assuming that this is a trade magazine for the hotel/motel industry? I can certainly see this on the cover if it's referring to building a structure because the foreground gives me the impression that it's in the process of being built. |

Technicolor Martiniby scab-labComment: Terrific! Has that wow effect. Very nice colors and I like the color in the ice cubes and the way the color is confined to their individual cubes and don\'t bleed out to the others. Very rich looking blues here too. |

Blue on Blackby inspzilComment: Very nice lighting and I like the indistinctness of the bottom of the glass and the way the blue appears to glow. I do find the orange light at the bottom to be distracting. |

Liquid Fireby JPRComment: Very good idea! The flame is blown out and overexposed and lacking in detail. Also, I would have liked to have seen the bottle from the side, and not head on. The black background goes very well with the flame and I think you can have a very effective photo if you improve your technique. |

When the cloud settlesby Dim7Comment: This photo is uninteresting and appears that not much thought went into it's taking. Here's some suggestion to improve it: First, a nice big head of beer dripping down the side of the glass would add more interest. Also, while I like the background, the fact that it ends and the beer is sitting on an ugly table makes this look like a snapshot. Get rid of the table by using muslin, canvas or other type of cloth for your background and have it extend down on top of the table and have your glass of beer sit on it. Also, backlighting of the glass of beer would have given you more interesting colors in the beer and a seperate light for the background would have added depth and an overall better effect. Good luck in future challenges and I hope this has been helpful to you. |

Bubbling Mud Potsby BAMartinComment: Excellent photo.....not sure what a mud pot is, but this is very interesting to look at and the picture even has an abstract quality I like. The composition is wonderful with it's triangular quadrants whose points meet in the middle. I love that you could see the bubbles and hot steam rising from the foreground and core (volcano?) liquid. Colors are rich and the gold/rust color at the top adds even more interest. Very well done and I"m rooting for you to finish high. |

Aerial Liquid Applicationby pncowleyComment: Very nice capture of the crop dusting plane and of the effluent it's emitting. I like the open feeling you get and the aerial perspective provided in the background. Also, I like the flatness of the foreground against the rising mountain in the background. Well done. |

Liquid Pick Me Upby lizardbethComment: I wish the shot had a more defined and well lit background. Also, I think you could have directed more light on the taps. I find the mug a bit too bright. Good idea that could have been better executed with a little more thought. |
