This is a good photo and a great drawing too. I wish it were a bit brighter and the shadow from the hand taken off the legs so we could see them better. Also could the photo that is being drawn from be more in the photo? Maybe at least up to the spot the pencil is currently drawing on? Great photo and good luck in the challenge.

Very cute. The photo is a little dark for my taste, but I know you did it to emphasize the light on the pencil's tutu. It has great effect, but I think it would have been more powerful if the light didn't spill onto the curtain to the left of the pencil. It looks great spilling onto the curtain behind the pencil, but for some reason, that other little spot of light is distracting. I love how you tied the ribbon on to represent the pencils slippers. Very creative. Good luck in the challenge.

You did a great job of lining up the edge of the pencils with the edge of the photo. This idea is great and I love the background. Now, I know this is getting picky, and it doesn't affect my score in any way, but ther seems to be a blemish in the background on the left hand side just over half way up. Like I said, doen't affect my rating, just an observation. The lighting is beautiful. I love how the yellow pencils seem to stand out on the blue background. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

I don't get the title...but than again, I don't really need to. This looks interesting and kind of disturbing. That dark goo looks like it's getting ready to eat someone. Lots of pencils. Definately meets the challenge. Angle and lighting are good. Frame placement is also good. Good luck in the challenge.

You got RIPPED OFF!!! If only people would LOOK at the photos!!! I am totally apaulled. This is a great photo and should have done WAY better. I hope you do know that it's not your fault that this got a low score. It's the voters not taking the time to look at the darn photos. You can tell the people who looked at it, and didn't. I say Congrats and you got a great score from me. Keep up the good work. Maybe everyone left their glasses home the day they voted. Grrrrrr....I am very frusterated that this didn't do better. Please forgive me if I'm out of line. Grrrrrr again.

Here is what I think this means. I think that is a reflection of a pencil in the tip of the pen. I think it means that you love pens and that your pencil is always in the background, probably unused. In the forums people talked about this being a pen and not meeting the challenge. if this is what I think it is, it meets the challenge just great. The focus is great and I love the black ink dot in the middle. I can't read the writing, but it really doesn't matter. The lighting is great and I love how there is the reflection in the pen. The pen kind of makes my eyes wander to the right edge because it goes off the photo right there, but the ink draws me back in. This really is a great photo and I hope it doesn't suffer because people don't see how it "meets the challenge". Great shot and good luck in the challenge.

Pretty darn flat. Looks like that sucker got shaved off by an ice burg millions of years ago. You had to have measured to get the far water line so perfectly aligned with the bottom of the photo. Cause I know I did, and it's like 1/16 of an inch off. (going by the large photo on the comment screen). Can't complain about that!! It was a great day for this shot. A little overcast in the background, but that takes nothing away from this photo. Great shot and good luck with the challenge.

I love the colors here. The lighting is great and so is the focus. I like how this is a photo of the pencils with the drawing in the background. The angle is very nice. I like how it completely fills the frame. You did a very nice job keeping glare off the pencils. Nice job and good luck in the challenge.

A pencil cicle. I like how the ice makes the pencil look wavy. A nice touch adding the melted-ness. Gives it more volume rather than just a pencil in ice. It's a bit dark for my taste, but I think it was important to the overall photo to have a dark background. There is a tiny reflection in the middle of the photo, but you did a great job of keeping reflection and glare off the ice. Nice job and good luck with the challenge.

Where on earth did you get those tiny little glasses? lol. Definatly gotta give you credit for creativity and originality. At first, I was thinking you should have used a better background, that this was a bit cluttered. Then I was thinking about the "geek" and realized that this was the perfect background for him. lol. you did a great job putting him together. Lighting is good and focus is great. I would like to have seen a more straight on shot, however it looks like you did it this way on purpose and that is just fine as well. Great shot and good luck in the challenge.
