 Thank you very much everyone for the great comments and taking the time to vote.

As HarveyG and vikas sort of mentioned in their comments, this is the same spot as my April FS entry that also did very well. This small bay on the east side of the island is just gorgeous but very finicky as far as shooting conditions go. The winds this morning were perfect but the tide was high so I was standing (more like wading) in water up to my waist.

I shot this on the morning of October 1st, just a few hours before flying out on vacation for 3 weeks. After looking at the set, I knew I probably wouldn't get any shots better than this during the rest of the month. This is probably my favorite set of shots that I've taken this year.

There were so many fantastic entries this month, I'm really happy this did well.

I like the colours, the framing, and the plasticity. Anyone can take a good sunset picture which makes it so much more impressive when you see one that is outstandingly above the benchmark. A favourite.

I love that the mast (is that the right term?) almost cuts the scene right were the color turns from blue to that wonderful gold. :)

Love the composition, light, colors. The mast splits the gold and blue so perfectly! It just keeps pulling my eye back ... snapping it back, really. Positively hypnotizing image.
