I tried to give the impression of the tortillas eating the corn. A truly a-maizing accomplishment if it works...

A visit from the critique club ;)

Heh, at first I couldn't figure it out, I had to see the challenge to clue me in on the subject matter & the title.

First impressions are that the overall image is too busy. And it has a yellowish tint particularly in the foreground where the cloth(?) looks like it should be white.

Reading your comments I did arrive at that conclusion that the tortillas were trying to eat the corn. But, I think you downplayed the tortillas role in this scene. Only after careful examination can I see that they are indeed tortillas and that they are trying to eat the corn. Perhaps filling a tortilla with corn kernels and placing it in the foreground with kernels falling out would give it more "artistic punch".

Another thing that sort of bugs me is are the kernels in the foreground. They are a bit blurry and I can see that you used only f/2.8 instead of something higher like f/8. That grass to the left tends to be the primary focal point and I think it would be better without it.

It definitely meets the challenge and I love the clever idea. I think you have something really good going here but a few more tries at it would give you a much stronger image.

Made me laugh, good lighting. With the corn in the front a smaller aperture wouldn't hurt though. The pattern of the glass fits the pattern of the corn. Nice.

This photo seems a little pale and washed out on my monitor (which is calibrated for graphics work). Some more contrast would be good. The composition is OK. I'm not sure that your shallow DOF, blurring the foreground kernels, is really necessary for this photo.

a wider shot to make the corn shells more obvious. I had to look for a sec to see where the after was

need to adjust white balance for more realistic colors... :)

Very well done shot. (A little too much yellow, maybe a black background?) Ohhh, the corn tortillas are eating the corn on the cob (I finally got the title!!) At first, I thought of serial killers, less than nice subject, but now I get it, it's much better! The silk doesn't show up well either (more background issue). 8 Swash

Wish there was some way you had gotten rid of the yellow cast hanging like a haze over the photo. Maybe a darker background would help. Also crop out the out of focus 3 kernals at the bottom. Other wise this is a great photo. Well thought out. I really like the concept.

Clever idea but IMO the colours look a little washed out.

challenge met, although i had to look for a couple of seconds to get it. i like the idea and the composition of the corn in the shells is good, too, however, i think your shot could benefit from more contrast and less of a yellow hue. maybe even a simpler background w/out pattern.
