California Dreaming would be another title for this fellow, but I think this is a wonderful shot, Bravo! |

Well noraneko, I already commented on this image, so I am going to keep it short (they should implement a skip button).
Let's see:
Composition: Great rule of thirds going on here. The Seal makes a wonderful edge line that makes your eyes move further to the left. The angle of the shot is a plus, it almost gives the seal that "high and mighty" atmosphere which is further exponded on by the closed eyes. The sidelighting really helps this image.
Technicals: Not much to complain about, already stated what I thought below.
Overall: Stunning photo as I mentioned before. Maybe a slight change in title, "King of My Hill", etc... Though there is nothing wrong with the one you have, just throwing things out there. A very special photo. |

The exposure is spot on! As well a very nicely framed composition. I love the expression on the animal. I always think it is a plus when the animal can be humanized. For some reason the background seems a little wonky, a bit to grainy in some areas and a bit blurry in others, but just a minor nitpick. An excellent photograph! |

Exceptional. The look is simply priceless - really exudes warmth and contentment. I hope you enter this in a wildlife competition somewhere in the "outside" world - I suspect it will kick butt and take names. Great score, congrats on the new personal best, too! |

Excellent - congrats on your new personal best! It's nice to see someone whose "best of 2006" actually did better than anything else in 2006. :)
When you come up here, we can trade - you take night shots and I'll shoot wildlife. :)

What a pose!
Seems a bit odd without water visible, though makes no
difference in the quality of the shot - well done! |

very nicely observed. i'm usually not a fan of the washed out colors produced by the midday sun, but here, it seems to work. i guess you subject won me over ;-) |

This little dude just looks so happy basking in the sun that I can't help but chuckle. Like the off-center composition used. |

Boy, is he proud of himself or what? Great capture! You might try cropping everything left of his rock (or even tighter). It's oof and doesn't add anything to the picture. |

she's a proud one, isn't she?
love the expression on the seal (is that what you call these?)
and the one-flipper-on-thigh pose is rather cool, or sexy! |
