Wow! I am thrilled with this finish... Thanks for all the comments and votes.... We don't have a lot of natural beauty here in the Panhandle of Texas but beautiful sunset we do have...
All I did to the picture was crop and a little brightness and contrast tweaking with ACDSee.
PS, I am trying to figure out how I can put fruit in front of a sunset :-)

| Very nice sky, but the foreground elements could be more effectively composed and framed. IT doesn't really give a strong sense of a play area or sporting area, although I think I can tell that the big square thing is a basketball net. Perhaps a tighter shot with the net in frame would have been more effective. |

| Well, what can you say? Great colors. Reminds me of the last day of summer vacation. I would have liked to have seen the BB rim seperated from the trees a little more. And I'm not exactly sure what's going on to the right. I like the colors and emotion, but I can't help wondering if there was a SLIGHTLY better angle for the shot. 9. |

| Wow, and more wow. If this were a sunset challenge, you'd have a good bet. You will probably do well anyway....great colors. If I had any kind of suggestion at all, look at the basketball backboard and the tree growing up into it, separate these two elements and you'd have a GREAT shot!!! (Still it ain't bad!) 8 Swash |

| I have to wonder where these beautiful sun sets are coming from. Certainly not from here. We get 1 every now and then, but never when I want them. LOL. Great shot. I love the shillouettes and the sky is great. Angle is perfect and I like how you also included that on the right. Great job and good luck with the challenge. |

| One of my strongest memories of childhood is at the end of the day and everyone has to go home.I wish that the basketball hoop was somewhat more separated from the trees in the background but I am not sure that was possible. 8 BAMartin |

| Wonderful atmosphere here, good composition. Variety of colour and tone in the sky is great. Nitpick : the net stand could possibly be more visible/dramatic if it was isolated from the tree below. But once you start messing with the composition.......you end up with a different picture. Top five. |

| Wow! Beautiful sky! I think the silhouettes should have been restricted to the basketball ring and trees (as the bars are uneccessary and clutter the view). I like this photo because of the sky, but it does not say much to me about my own childhood (probably my problem because I hardly played basketball at all when I was young). Overall, I think you've done a good job, so well done. |

| Funky sky! I would have liked this a little better if it had used either the backboard or another single element in the foreground. It seems like the playground equipment and the backboard compete for my eye too much. |

| Absolutely gorgeous colors. I like the basketball hoop, because it defines the setting (more so than merely the other structure, which could be a porch, verandah, etc., but is probably a jungle gym). Somehow, though, I'd like to see the hoop at a different angle. It "argues" with the tree just a bit. |

| Beautiful imagery, beautiful symbolism. IMHO, the image would have been much stronger and much more subtle if you had cropped out the large horizontal shape at the bottom and also the dark clouds at the top. Right now those two black shapes frame this image and I find it rather restricting. Without them there are plentyof dark shapes left and the message comes across anyway. Well done.
