 The colours you see are pretty much accurate. The orchids were factory dyed with blue shades. I have only adjusted the saturation slightly to make it more vivid and sharpened it.

The glow comes from a tiny flashlight placed behind the petals. I also had a small flashlight with purple celophane over it to boost the red portions at the right.

When you get this close up, familiar objects become abstracts. In this case, the colors, shapes and composition are spot on. Beautiful shot.

Well this has to be one of the top five, if not the outright winner. This is just beautiful with excellent composition, colors and textures. Even the slight noise adds something to it for me. -10

As much as I hate to say this; this is definitely a case where I wish every single pixel was in perfect focus because I really want to see every bit of detail in this amazing flower. Gorgeous colors, and an effective composition. Not crazy about the fairly wide, white border.

Technical: fits the challenge. Exposure composition focus lighting all very good, nice job capturing a better-than-the-usual shot of a relatively common subject.

Personal: The "inner glow" here is almost otherworldly. I love the colors, but I think they might border on too much.

Love it. It's as if one is invading the private life of this particular orchid. The diagonals invite my eyes to dig deeper into the inside ... which is so inviting because of the light. Co(o)lors are wild (congratulations in your manipulations!). Texture of the petals is well captured ... delicate and soft. Orchids are so exquisite ... and so is this picture.
