Positioned a bit more off center (like to the right) would have made this a better shot for me. Maybe a bit more light coming from the upper left would have also added to the shot. I am also not sure the shirt needs to be open like it is to convey the feeling but won't mark down for it as it is just my opinion.

Good lighting, good focus. I think the shot would have been better if the face was positioned slightly off center. It looks a bit stark to me and too much "in your face". I think the shot could have been made more subtle without losing the intensity. Also, having the bottom of the chin and top of the forehead cut out gives an unusual look here. Perhaps changing the position to vertical instead of horizonatal would have improved this.

If you could have taken the zoom out just a bit to ensure the whole flower was included here it would have helped. Having some of the tips of the petals cut off loses a bit for me.

I like this idea very much. The only thing that takes away from the shot for me is that the cards fade into the background. But you could have intended it so I will not take away for it. Good focus and nice placement.

I didn't get through all the pictures last week for voting - so I am just finding this one now. A very touching photo - I wore a brace just like the one in the middle for about 2 years between 5-6 grade for perthes disease in my hip, so I know a little bit about one of the "shoes" shown here. As far as the picture goes I like the child's quilt that is on the floor in this shot - I think it brings a very personal feeling in contrast to the cold braces. I am sure this is a very emotional shot for you - thanks for submitting it. It does show another side to childhood that is not often portrayed.

This picture is a little too flat for me and having the shirt centered in the middle of the picture doesn't do much for me. I think it would have appealed more if the shirt was in a different position instead of flat on the carpet (maybe laying the grass with footballs around it?). I also would have liked a bigger challenge to find the pencil - perhaps if it was set along a seam of the shirt instead of across the collar. Good lighting and focus and meets the challenge = 5

meeting challenge = 4 hard to tell if this is a zoo or actual sighting of a bear - definate fear there! Photo quality = 4. I'll go with the assumtion this was a shot taken quickly before the bear went away. total = 8

I am not quite sure what this is a shot of - a person on a trampoline? meeting challenge = 3, photo quality = 3 a bit too much movement. I can't tell what is going on. total = 6
