An unusual pose - makes me wonder what she is thinking of .. for my personal taste, I do like a bit of a crisp ficus but given your aperture I can see why that wouldn't be easy. Certainly makes her pupil pop

Ah Harvey, this is truly a much more difficult shot to get than most of the blue ribbon winners on DP - it's rare, it's nature at her best (and worst depending on which bird you are rooting for) I would have given it an 8 but I know what it takes to get such a shot - no, I might not have known it was a baby in it's claws but I know it has something and given the fact that even a hummingbird will buzz a hawk to protect it's nest, I might have guessed it was it's young. I am always in awe of the tiny birds with the heart of lions when it comes to protection of their territory or their young - thank you got another wonderful glimpse into true wildlife photography.

Well I would know it's an ursula at first glance - I know what other people who commented mean when they say the Bokeh seems a bit out of place but it's something different as most just fade off - it's good to see something different and I hope you continue to surprise us with unusual b/gs

I wish you had of included your first shot in your comment box as it would make it easier to compare .. You know, this set-up is simpler but it's missing the feel of being as authentic as the first one. I am hopeless at these kind of setups so I am not sure how much value I would place on my comments.

Lovely lines and the tonal range is perfect to my eyes - I love how the markings on the right full frond look like Chinese lettering (to my very uneducated in other languages eyes)

A great find and a very nice capture .. when will we ever learn that we need to protect our fellow inhabitants on this poorly stewarded plant? I love that you included so much of it's habitat - sometimes that's better (more interesting too) than just having a close up of the bird.

I think I can read the minds of the guys who are looking at you taking a photo of their folly (grin) didn't know I knew so many cuss words .. nice change encounter Matt - on a different note, for those that want to get int sports photography, editing that many photos is what you call a real job. Hope they all need minimal touch up.

That's the problem with commenting late - all the good remarks have already been made. But as per your usual Alice, you always get great detail in your buildings (or streetlights) Glad to see you are having nicer weather than we are here in the mountains .. skies are still mostly gray but I just think of the song from the musical Annie - tomorrow, tomorrow, the sun etc.
