Eyelashesby SoulMan1978Comment: I thought this was a pretty interesting shot, and voted it much higher than it's average. I agree with the other comments that it seems a bit overly sharp, but I assumed that was what you were going for. To keep this same style as opposed to the completely different takes on your discussion thread, I would have liked to see more pure dark black. Something to really offset all of the white. Just my two cents. (or half a cent, you decide! :-) |

Day 7 - after - Shrouded in Doubtby loveComment: Another great shot. I Love the crop, and the textures in the scarf are a nice contrast with the smoothness of the skin. The details in the eyes are also VERY nice! |

Just hang\'n out after-sepia-tweaked.jpgby wehrmacherComment: It does make the boys appear a bit sharper, as well as the bricks and concrete. The last version is STILL my favorite! :-) I've looked at it several times now and decided the slightly out of focus boys don't bother me. It just gives the photo a different feel that we don't often see here in super sharpened DPC land.

Edited to add:
Sometimes "different" can be good, and sometimes "different" can be bad. Other times it's just plain "different." If the whole picture had been out of focus, I would have thought either bad or different for the sake of being different. But since the bricks and reflections were so sharp, I've decided that it's good different! :-) Just my opinion of course! lol Message edited by author 2008-06-07 09:32:13. |

Jun 05 After.jpgby Mr_PantsComment: Cracks my up! Why did you put that bear in there??? WHY, WHY, WHY??? I HAVE TO KNOW!!!! Excellent job with the selective desat, and I'm a HUGE fan of the negative space. I would never even think of cropping off the face like that, but it works so well! BUT WHY IS THAT BEAR THERE???? :-) |

Just hang\'n out after-sepia.jpgby wehrmacherComment: This is my favorite of the three as well! I think it would have made a nice entry for Partners! Like the other commenters, the camera DID focus on the background rather than the boys, which is the only drawback for DPC. Still, I kind of like it personally. Candid shots are tough that way. I've got scads of them from the May side challenge that are juuusssttt slightly out of focus, but looked perfect on my LCD. :-{ |

Jun 06 After.jpgby Mr_PantsComment: I'm such a sucker for B&W! I think it works SO well for almost everything, and this is no exception! It really brings out the details in the stonework and the windows. Great job! |
