Frame itby zacowacoComment: really cool use of a pencil frame. I like it. the photo is creative and original. The lighting and angle are good, however it also kind of looks like the chest of this person is also kind of in a "frame" makes it stand out pretty well. the focus is great. I even like the soft focus on the hand in the front. good luck in the challenge. |

Peggedby habesComment: Cute idea. Very creative and original. This would be a perfect photo if we ever had a "objects out of place" challenge. LOL. I like all the red and white in the photo. Makes it seem planned that way. The angle and frame filling is good and I like how the front is in sharp focus and the back is soft focus. Great job and good luck in the challenge. |

Pencil Pandemoniumby kindonComment: Can't figure out how photos are done, but I think I may see a hint of glue holding the pencils to the left together. However, I've been wrong before. I like this. Great lighting, focus, and very creative. Would love to see at what other angles you shot this. it could be open to SO many possibilities. Great photo. Good luck in the challenge. |

Young Sketcherby quarxComment: This is very yellow. I am sure you did it intentionally, so I'm going to leave it alone, however I might have either used b&w or plain old fashioned color. You did a great job in creating the yellowness, just a bit too yellow for me. Setting that aside, You have a great angle of the child and there is definately a pencil in the pic. There is a kind of distracting white string (?) to the right side of the photo on the table. All for a small reflection on the shiny surface in the background, the lighting is great. it is also a very nice drawing, which makes it visually interesting. Good luck in the challenge. |

Forgottenby HillWalkComment: Very nice angle. I like how you have done this with the chair in front. Sometimes this doesn't work, but it works nicely in this case. Now, I know the table is textured, but I think it also has water on it too. I would have stopped at the fact that the table was textured, if not for the 2 little water droplets on the chair. I was trying to figure out why the pencil was a bit distorted looking and I came to the conclusion that it is either because of the texture, or added water, or both. The grass looks really neat through the glass on the table. The lighting is great for portraying that "forgotten" look. It's dim light, but definately not too dim. Great shot and good luck in the challenge. |

Balance by timj351Comment: This is a beautiful photo. The idea is great. Lighting is perfect, the pencil doesn't even have a shadow. There are a few pencils standing by themselves in the challenge. I can't really figure out how it was done, but think it has something to do with taking a really quick photo before the pencil falls after letting go of it. Angle is great and placement is great. Congrats and good luck in the challenge. |

untitledby BeeGeeComment: Great patterns. I like how the front pencil was placed in opposite of the other pencils. you had very good spacing in the bottom pencils. Lighting is good and focus and angle are good. Sharp focus on the front pencil and soft focus on the others looks really nice in this case. I am curious about the very bottom pencil and why it is cut off at an angle like that. great job and good luck in the challenge. |

You want me to do what with this pencil?by jimsappComment: Wow. This is such a cute, calm looking kitty. I never would have thought that it would be able to rip apart a pencil with those sharp teeth, if I hadn't seen it myself. 2 totally different sides to the same kitty. I would have lliked to have seen the entire cat in the photo. either move the photo up a tad, or back it up a tad. Great focus, lighting and angle. good job and good luck in the challenge. |

Hair Paraphernaliaby daniellitaComment: Don't take this the wrong way, but it doesn't look like too much effort was put into this. The background isnt' very pleasing. Kind of looks like you took it sitting at your computer. Just ignore me if I'm wrong. A nicer background would have made all the difference. However, the placement of the subject in the photo is very nice. Lighting makes the hair shine and there is definately a pencil. The color of the hair is very nice and the pencil looks very nice in relation to color with the hair. I would love to see this again with another background. Good luck in the challenge. |

Tufted Titmouseby pnichollsComment: The clarity of that bird is amazing. He's even got something in his mouth! Yup, I see the pencils. lol. Lighting is beautiful and I love how the background is just that. Background and nothing else. Nothing really that I would change here. He's beautiful. Good luck in the challenge. |
