Self-portrait taken in the bathroom with some steam. I used a high ISO (400) to add grain.

Wow Lisa! You have gorgeous lips... Love the grainy steaminess...
Edit: Actually you have a cute nose and nice eyes too... :D
Edit 2: For Mag/Koll's benefit - this is NOT a come one! Sheesh! ;) :)

It's sad that I didn't get to vote or comment on this challenge, because I've been on holiday, but wingy - your comment is exactly right! You touched on every decision I made with this photo. I was kind of depressed at the time because I'd put on some weight, and this challenge was kind of confronting. But I decided to go with a self-portrait and explore those feelings. Thanks for thinking about my photo :).

I think a tighter crop would help, although I think you might be leaving a wider shot in order to simulate an entire bathroom mirror with your shot. I think the title is vital to the shot, as alone I don't think it's particularly impressive in terms of expression or portraiture, however, if I think of it as you actually looking into a bathroom mirror suddenly it all starts to fit and seems to capture a look of dull self-evaluation that strikes me as very real. Although I could just be reading into it way to far. 8

I like the softness of this shot, but wish the model didn't look so sad - a more sensual feel would have been very nice. I would have cropped off quite a bit of the top - I just feel like I want a tighter crop on the subject.

That upper right corner is so white in comparrison to the rest of the photo that it's kind of distracting to me. The portrait it's self it good. I realize that with the title, she's probably suposed to look sad, but I think she would be a very pretty model if smiling too! The focus is a bit soft, but it does't bother me, and I actually think it makes the shot nice. Good luck in the challenge.

I want to see you smile. Not a bad self portrait. Good luck in the challenge. Lisae, Lisae, Lisae.

I really like the composition, but I am not sure about the graininess.

Your model's expression is saying "do I have to do this again"? I am sure that is what you were after but it just doesn't make it great for me. The back lighting is a little too strong also.
