 Never EVER did I expect a blue ribbon for this. Last minute entry with a 5 minute edit before we went away for the weekend to Canberra. Predicted a mid 5's at best.

I like the processing done on this. I have a similar image where I also desaturated and applied a brown overlay to make it really moody. (Not saying mine is any where near as good as this just pointing it as a possible processing alternative).

Anyways, the treatment you used works really well on this subject I think and helps create a definite mood. Congrats on the ribbon!

I like the placement of the tree to the left, it just pulls you in.

Outstanding photo! There is only one critique I could give and that is to lose the extra space on the left of the tree. I know it fits that High Definition crop ratio but I don't see it serving a purpose. There would be greater definition and texture showing on the tree if it were closer and filled in the frame a bit more.
