I think the sliced lemon would have made a more interesting object to have in the front. I like the seeds that have come out, but they almost get lost in the shadows. There is nice detail here and good focus - I like that the back lemon is slightly blured. Good composition. = 7

I like the way the wires towards the top almost seem to warp or ripple in this shot. The upper left corner is a bit distracting because there is wire mesh doesn't go all the way to the edge - moving in just a tad might have helped, or cropping the shot a bit more on the left. I like the detail captured in the chipped paint and the feeling of perspecive this gives. = 6

House Finch

I love the blured background here. The details on the finch don't seem to be very strong though. It seems like the focus could be adjusted slightly to bring out more definition in the feathers. I like the framing of the branch and how the bird almost remains in the lower left half of the photo. Very nice = 7

This is a nice candid. = 6 Good capture of expression. The lighting makes the features very soft and the shot has a dark feel to it that is brightened by the stark contrast of the white shirt. The head in the lower right is a bit distracting but cropping that out would cause you to lose the womans hands.

Great title - I really like the focus here and how the lighting hits the leaves. The crop of the picture is also very good - I like that additional branches are included. Very nice = 8

I like how the swirl in the wood frames this shot. The colors or lack of color emphasize the age and helps bring out the detail. I am left wondering what is in the middle part though and that area is what draws my attention most. I wish there was a bit more depth because of that. = 7

Last Year's Resolution

The white object leaning against the wall doesn't add anything to the shot. I think it would have been better taken out. I like how the framing makes this feel pushed into the corner. Good lighting to capture the dust and bring a dreary feeling. = 6
